I’m getting ready to go through the same thing in a few different ways. Way number one: I’m not quite a first-time father of children anymore, but my girlfriend is expecting our first baby together! This will be a daunting task since it’s been about 8 1/2 years since she’s been pregnant and about 7 1/2 years since I’ve been in this waiting stage.
Way number two: My girlfriend and I are in the process of purchasing (in the next two weeks at the most) a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy for her and later on towards the end of the summer, I’ll be buying a Vizsla puppy for myself. We’re hoping to have a breeding pair of Vizsla’s within the next couple of years.
I’m a little intimidated to say the least, although I don’t know what part of this whole thing is intimidating me the most. I’ve been a ‘Baby-Daddy’ before but it’s the task of training two Pointers in the near future that I think seems the most daunting!!
On top of all this, we’re looking at moving into our first house together this summer. Holy smokes, when it rains it pours!!
I feel for you man, I really do!! I’ll try to think about that whole ‘advice’ part that you mentioned at the end of your blog. Please know that that’s a two-way street. If you have any advice in any of this, I would appreciate it as well. In the meantime, I’ll try to trim down the carpeting so it doesn’t get chewed on in too many places!!
