Would Aldo Leopold Enjoy a Chipotle Burrito?

Yes, Chipotle is still fast food; however, in a culture of pre-packaged meals this Chipotle television commercial (aired during the Grammy Awards telecast) does harken back to Leopold’s writing in A Sand County Almanac focused on food being linked to our land. What do you think?  Does Chipotle get Leopold’s message or are they simply trying to sell you more burritos using a “green” marketing message?     The Pointer is written by Bob St.Pierre, Pheasants Forever's Vice President of Marketing.  Follow Bob on Twitter @BobStPierre.

  1. John Wallace says:

    Bob,

This is my first time viewing this, however, the topic of the video was brought to my attention the other day by a farmer here in Ohio, who said he saw an article in one of his Ag mags “that (non-organic) farmers were going to protest outside of Chipotle…” HA. I believe this to be mostly in the joking context, but still…I very moving video, a very good blog topic!

On a lighter note….Check out Hothead burrito (very similiar in concept) on the web or facebook! It has taken (WEST-CENTRAL) OHIO by storm! I would take Hothead over Chipotle! just sayin ;) This is not a plug, just the facts! Have a good one!

  2. Thanks for the feedback @JohnWallace.
