Can You Name That Classic Shotgun?

The trophy shot from a Nebraska pheasant hunt circa 1948.

Larry Wardell of Yankton, South Dakota, sent in this photo of himself and his younger sister, Janice, near Wayne, Nebraska from 1948. The limit was six birds back in those days. “I always like to look at some of these old pictures as we (his late father Joe and late brother Joe Jr.) used to go hunting every weekend. I came along since I was old enough to carry a BB gun. In those days it was not unusual to flush up to 100 pheasants at a time,” Larry wrote.

Here’s the twist with today’s post: In his note, Wardell made no mention of what guns are pictured, so your guess is as good as mine!

What kind of shotguns do you think they are?

Looks like the one with Sister is an Rem. 870, not sure about the one Larry has, could be a Winchester.
