Can You Name That Classic Shotgun?
Dennis Peterson of Mayville, North Dakota, shared this photo of his late father, Curtis Peterson, at left, and brothers Bob and Cal Peterson, also of Mayville, N.D.
“In the fall of 1976, we drove about 100 miles south to the Rutland, N.D. area for some pheasant hunting,” Dennis wrote. “It was a beautiful fall day, and we managed to bag a few nice roosters. The day was a success! We learned from dad that a successful hunting day isn’t always about filling your limit. Dad passed away in April of 2009, but we carry on the hunting tradition along with our youngest brother, John.”
Curtis, in particular, is carrying an interesting scattergun, one of which I once owned. I’ll post the answer Monday.
Answer: Curtis is carrying a Browning-made, Montgomery Ward 16 ga. Bob and Cal are both carrying Remington 870′s.
