Dog of the Day: “Bo”

He may not be a pointer or a spaniel, but “Bo,” a redbone coonhound, is a bird hunter nonetheless. “He chose his path when he wouldn’t put down a pheasant dummy, so I said why fight it,” says his owner and hunting companion, Cody Thorpe, “He finds, flushes and retrieves birds for me all day long and loves every minute of it with me.”

Awesome! I thought I was the only one crazy enough to bird hunt with a coonhound. I have a Walker that bird hunts

Dogs are dogs. Most of them hunt. Good stuff. Too many guys think they have just the right breed. I have always said the dog that you are hunting with is the best dog to hunt with. It’s not rocket science.

Nice looking pup. Probably has a lot of endurance.
