jesse, you are right on about the molting. my rooster and 2 hens lost their feathers right after the hens hatched their 25 eggs. they all looked like crap. as the chicks grew up the rooster and two hens grew back their feathers and pretty soon it was hard to tell the difference between the dad rooster and mom hens. i let them all loose this week into my food plot and woods and corn field out back. i see some of them every now and then and they look very good. i don’t hunt them, i just want to re-establish them into this community.
