Rejoining the Fraternal Order of the Hunting Beard

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Like it or not, cold weather is coming and you need to plan ahead to have a solid hunting beard.

Did you feel the weather change on Sunday where you live?

I spent all Sunday in Minnesota with the attendees of Game Fair, a 6-day festival of hunters and their bird dogs.  During my nine hour shift in the Pheasants Forever booth recruiting new members, I became chilly for the first time in four months.

I’ve always marveled at the natural order of waterfowl migrating, bluegills dusting out spawning beds and a bird dog’s uncanny knowledge of opening day.  The same inherent truth exists amongst hunters come this time of year.  That’s right; it’s time to re-grow the fall hunting beard

I have thrown down my Norelco.  Henceforth, I vow to rejoin my hunting brethren in the fraternal order of the hunting beard.

Will you send your razor to hibernation and join me?
