Dick Propernick and his granddaughter, Emma, enjoyed watching “Luigi” the Bracco Italiano and “Bayou” the pointing Labrador retriever on this South Dakota pheasant hunt.

Dog of the Day: Bird Hunting Bracco

Gary Lewis’ Bracco Italiano, “Sal,” is his first upland dog. “She is doing pretty well considering me not knowing much,” joked Lewis. The pair makes their home in southern Indiana, where Sal performed well recently on pheasants and quail at the local hunting preserve.
